Obituary of Kelly Wolfe

Kelly Wolfe, 77, died Monday, May 1, 2023, at Garden Square Memory Care in Greeley, Colorado after struggling several years with Alzheimer’s.

He is survived by his two children, Kim (Wolfe) Allen, and Kevin Wolfe; his 5 grandchildren, and his two great grandchildren.

Kelly was born and raised in Sterling, Colorado to the parents of Velma and Amos Wolfe.  He graduated from Sterling High School in 1964.  After graduation, he worked at Brown Shoe Fit Company in Sterling.  Kelly married Pamela Woodworth in 1967 and they had two kids together, Kim and Kevin.  In 1969, Pam and Kelly moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where he worked for the Village Shoe Shoppe.  Pam and Kelly were divorced in 1978.

In 1970, Kelly went to work as an insurance agent for Farmers Insurance.  He built a very successful agency in Fort Collins before moving to Colorado Springs in the late 1980’s to be a district manager for Farmers Insurance.  Kelly won many awards and trips through his hard work at Farmers.  One of his greatest honors was meeting President Ronald Regan after winning the prestigious Presidential Award for his sales records.    

After retiring from Farmers in 1998, Kelly moved back to Fort Collins to be closer to his kids and grandkids.  Kelly spent his final years in Fort Collins before moving to a memory care facility in Greeley, Colorado in his final two years of life.

Kelly loved anything that went fast.  Whether it was driving one of his many sports cars, racing boats, or touring the country on his Harley Davidson, he loved and was very proud of his toys.  Later in life, Kelly spent a lot of time playing pool, participating in many pool leagues and even going to several tournaments in Las Vegas.

Kelly had a great love for life.  He was always quick with a smile and loved to joke around with everyone.  He was a kind and gentle man that easily made friends with anyone who would talk to him.  His fun loving spirit made him the life of the party wherever he went.  He was a proud father of his kids, loved to watch his grandkids play sports, and loved to be with family.  He is going to be greatly missed.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11am on May 13th, 2023 at Mountain View Community Church in Fort Collins, Colorado (2330 E. Prospect Road) followed by a reception.
