Obituary of Taaz Henry Doherty

Taaz Henry Doherty
7/24/1991 – 4/7/2023

Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral (Goodbye; I’ll be seeing you)

Taaz was born in Glendale, California on July 24, 1991, to Patrick Doherty and Charo Rhodes
(Cole). In 1996, Taaz and his mother moved to Colorado. Casey Rhodes married Charo and
added three brothers to Taaz’s family – Jesse, Joey and Jake Rhodes. His brothers describe Taaz
as lighting up the room with joy and laughter every time he entered. As the oldest brother, he
could always be trusted and was protective of his family and friends.
Taaz had a love of music from an early age. As a teenager, he took professional guitar lessons
and practiced often with his father. Later in life – Taaz even composed his own music. He knew
the words to any song, and often quizzed his family on the band and song names. He loved
attending concerts. Taaz collected many guitars as his love of music grew through the years. He
loved all types of music – except for country.
Rarely seen without his long, curly, flowing hair, black pants and Converse high top shoes – Taaz
had a caring soul combined with witty humor that put others at ease. He was funny – always
working hard to make others smile or laugh and would not give up until it happened. Taaz was
an intelligent, caring person who would do just about anything for you.
In 2017, Taaz worked hard to purchase a home – all on his own – for him, his father and their
dog Duke. He was immensely proud of this achievement. Taaz grew to become a perfectionist
on all his projects – especially his home upgrades. Taaz excelled at his jobs and quickly
advanced at each. He drove himself to learn and master many skills, tools and especially his
people skills. At the time of his passing, he worked for Ricoh where his co-workers said, “Taaz
touched so many of us in so many different ways! Lots of tears here in the work environment
today and should be for certain!  We've all shared so many stories and they all relate to how he made
us laugh, how intelligent this guy was and how he would do anything for any of us!  He will be
missed by so many! “
Spiritually, Taaz believed in God. He is still with us, just in a new state of being.

Taaz is survived by his parents – Patrick Doherty and Charo Rhodes; his stepfather Casey
Rhodes; his brothers Jesse, Joey and Jake Rhodes. Additionally, his grandparents: Cecil and Julie
Cole; Kenneth Gorman; and Anna Sparks. His uncles and their spouses - Rick Cole (Jen) and Sean
Gorman-Orozco (Brian); his niece and nephew - Adelaide and Miles. And his dog Duke.
Taaz touched so many friends and extended family members as well. All will miss his humor,
kindness and fun-loving spirit.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
And the rains fall soft upon your fields
And, until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand
