Obituary of Claire Madsen

Claire Ruth (Warner) Madsen, 87 of Fort Collins, Colorado died April 6^th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born October 29^th, 1935, in Denver, Colorado to Ruth Thelma (Nelson) Warner and Lohman Dickerson Warner. Claire graduated from East High School in Denver Colorado and married Paul Denis Madsen in 1955. They remained married for nearly 60 years. After being married they relocated to Michigan where Paul was born and raised. Here she held various jobs while primarily focusing on her husband and raising their three children.  During their retirement years she and Paul loved to travel in their RV and shared their time between Colorado and Florida. She is survived by one son, Roger Madsen, two daughters, Susan Martens, and Carol Wallman; five grandchildren, John, Joe, Bryan, Sarah, and Jed; one great grandson, Wesley and one great granddaughter Rylee. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Denis Madsen and grandson, James Ryan Martens. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and a had a strong but quiet faith in God. She was a very special person who accepted everyone for who they were and was always appreciative and grateful for the many blessings she received in life. For nearly the last decade of Claire’s life she experienced Alzheimer’s type dementia. Even though during these final years her world shrank, her love and appreciation for others and the many blessings in her life only grew wider and deeper.

We continue to cultivate joy and build stronger connections for people living with dementia, their care partners, and our communities.
