Cindy lived mostly in Colorado all her life. It was here in Ft Collins, she met Virgil L Mapes and married on October 13, 1972. Cindy and Virgil have known each other, from 1st grade, school and together have 3 children, 2 sons and 1 daughter. After marriage they lived in Ft Collin Colorado, on till a fire took their home on March 1990. From there they moved to Laporte Colorado, where they grew up.

Cindy attended CLP grade school and CLP Jr high and graduated from Ft Collins High in 1972.

As a teenager she had a number of jobs. Working pumping gas and keeping the books, at a gas

station to work at planetarium with flowers, to being a clerk at stores. Also, as a maid for a motel in the late 1970. Then she went to work for Teledyn Water-Pik, there she worked on the assemble lines. And later went to the molding department, where she rose in rank from machine operator to material handler, to where house inventory clerk. Cindy really enjoyed this job and the people she worked with. But in the early 2000 she needed a change, so she went to work for PSD schools as a night custodial, as her dad did Cindy enjoyed this job and the people she worked with. But really missed the fork truck from Water-Pik. But 1 year after her mother's death in 2007. Cindy was diagnosed with cancer of her own and could no longer work as she is dealing with both breast and ovarian cancers. Both came back in 2021 and she is still fighting it today. She was a lot like her dad in many ways. Gifted, stubborn and a fighter. Cindy was not much of a girly girl. But was a tomboy. As a teenager she loved riding horses, and her motorcycle. Cindy loved children very much also animals, expectantly horses. Cindy had many hobbies such as cake decorating, wood and leather work and sewing also many many more. She loved a good challenge, even when it came to remodeling her home.
