Obituary of Chris Morgan

Christopher Warren Morgan, age 31, of Fort Collins, Colorado, passed away on February 28, 2023, at home surrounded by family after a three-year battle with Synovial Sarcoma. He was born July 5, 1991, the youngest of six boys from Merrimack, New Hampshire. Attending the Merrimack School System, Chris followed his older brothers into a love of contact sports and video games. Fondly nicknamed “Hampy” by his teammates at Fort Collins High School, and later “HampCo” at Sequim High School, Chris achieved many awards in JV/Varsity football, lacrosse, and wrestling before graduating in 2010.

Chris attended Northern Idaho Community College, receiving his Associate Degree with a concentration in Education and Recreational Sports. He was passionate about helping others to achieve their best, and spent his free time as a Student Teacher, and Student Trainer at the College Gym and Weight Room. Following graduation, Chris relocated to Fort Collins Colorado to reconnect with old friends and developed life-long friendships. He was an avid hometown Patriots fan, ten-year “League of Legends” player, committed to Game Night with his roommates, and adamant about Wednesday Night Wrestling “with the boys.” Chris was employed by the Kroger Company as an assistant produce manager, with plans to continue his education. He loved life, family, friends and brought a light to this world with his huge heart and beautiful smile.

Chris will be deeply missed by his Mother, Shanda Morgan of Wyoming,  “John-Dad” Maccabe and Step-Mother, Patti Maccabe of New Hampshire; his five adoring older brothers: Jesse, Jessica and nephew Logan Maccabe of California; James, Cait, niece Willa and nephew Rowan Maccabe of New Hampshire; Sean Maccabe of Colorado; Tim Maccabe of New Hampshire; and Andrew, Danielle and niece Addy Maccabe of New Hampshire; his Maternal Grandmother, Barbara Morgan of Idaho; his beloved Aunt “Naneen” and Uncle Rick Newman of Arizona; his Uncle Roger Morgan, and Uncle Ken Morgan of Idaho; and several more much loved Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.

Final arrangements are being made through Vessey Funeral Services in Fort Collins, Colorado with an on-line Memorial/Tribute Wall available for Christopher’s friends and family, near and far, to share memories and photos. A burial with grave-side service is being planned for a later date at the Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Synovial Sarcoma Foundation of America in memory of Christopher, at www.curesarcoma.org.
