Obituary

 

Irvin “Irv” Eugene Troudt was born to Alex and Katherine Schieldt Troudt February 2, 1930. He passed

away December 31, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lee, Albert, Howard, sister Esther Buderus, wife

Dorothy Kaltenberger, son Darrell (JoLynn) and grandson Brady Warberg.

He is survived by his daughter Diana (Wade) Warberg, grandchildren Nicole and Kirk Troudt, Kaylie and

Wyatt Warberg, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Irv grew up in the Fort Collins area; he attended Plummer, Cache La Poudre and graduated from

Wellington High School in 1947. After graduation he hauled hay and in 1948 followed the wheat

harvest.

In March 1951, he was drafted in the Army. He attended basic in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was

sent to Korea to serve with the 27 th Regiment, 25 th Division for one year. There he was promoted to

Sergeant First Class. After his time in Korea, he then reported to Camp Atterbury Indiana and was

released December 1953.

He returned home and worked various jobs and started dating Dorothy Kaltenberger. They married in

January 1954. He then re-enlisted with the Army Reserve and was discharged November 1966 as Master

Sergeant. Dorothy Troudt passed away in April 1982.

Irv began working for Mountain Bell July 1954 and retired December 1983. Not to be one to sit around,

he started a lawn-care business to occupy his time.

In 1985, he reconnected with a high school friend, Janet Shea. He quit mowing lawns and they traveled

the world and played golf. They lived in Loveland and spent winters in Phoenix.

In 2010, he moved to Fort Collins and then in 2018, he moved into Morning Star Assisted Living.
