I was heartbroken to hear that Lawrence passed away and I didn't know otherwise I would have been there for the funeral. I was proud to know Lawrence, to me he was an ICON in this community. One of the long time Hispanic residents of the Alta Vista neighborhood, he would always tell me how he was born next door. The Olivas family history is long in Fort Collins, Lawrence was in my film Memorias de las Tres Colonias, he was a great supporter of the Museo and my films. He was truly a kind soul in the world and the world was a better place because of him. He would always make me laugh when I would see him at Wal-Mart and he would call me BAM, I would say what does that mean, he would chuckle and say you know Betty Aragon-Mitotes. I thought that was so cute...he always had a hug for me and supportive words for my work. Lawrence will be greatly missed, he added so much to our rich history, he was a man I adored and respected. RIP Lawrence, you were loved by many.

I worked with Larry at Waterpik for many of his 38 years there. Larry was always busy working on some new quality problem. I'm sure he was instrumental in solving many of those pesky problems too. I thought I knew Larry pretty well until I read his obituary today. I feel bad that I knew so little about him, his life, family and many accomplishments outside of the work environment. My wife and I were invited to their 50th wedding anniversary. I never saw so many family and friends gathered together for such a grand occasion. He and his wife were truly loved by many. Larry retired before I did and I was sad to see him leave, but wished him the best. It sounds like he enjoyed his retirement and I'm happy for him. You did good, Larry and may you rest in peace.
