Obituary of Vicky Andersen

Obituary Vicky Lynn Andersen left this world on November 21, 2021 with a long and lasting legacy of love and commitment. Doug, her childhood sweetheart and husband of 47 years, of Wellington, CO shares the news of her passing following 12 years of struggle after a brain aneurysm in 2009. Vicky will be missed by many people who knew her as a committed and reliable foundation to whatever she did in life. From the time she was a Girl Scout camp counselor at Meadow Mountain Ranch in Allenspark as a young woman to her well earned position with Home Federal Savings as a Vice President of Operations to the Manager of the family operated Ace Hardware of Wellington she gave her all. Vicky volunteered for a wide variety of community and school projects sharing her devotion to her two boys and providing a shining example of dedication to whatever she committed herself to. Vicky was a CSU Graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in the School of Natural Resources. Vicky grew up in Sterling, Colorado. Her parents, James and Virginia Fisher and her two sisters, Valerie and Jacqueline all preceded her in death. She’s survived by her eldest son, Ian and his wife Blair along with their two daughters Lily and Ivy of Valdosta, Georgia. Also, she leaves her younger son Eric and his wife Elizabeth and their children Payton, Keaton and Isla of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Vicky will be missed by her father and mother in law, Homer and Shirley Andersen of Fort Collins, Ted and Penni Andersen of Longmont and Chris and Joan Thompson of Nampa, Idaho. Doug offers his thanks and sincere gratitude to the many dedicated people who helped care for Vicky in recent years. Among them are Christine Wilcox of Cheyenne, Wyoming, the staff at Collinwood Assisted Living (especially Reyna who adopted Vicky as a mother figure) and the caring concern of Dr Mason Shamis at the Innovage Medical Clinic. These people all know the loss we all share and what a huge void we have left in our lives. Her legacy will live on through the hearts she has touched and memories she created.
