Red rented a room in my Uncle Roy Minter's basement when he first moved to Fort Collins, I was in college and also lived with my Uncle. When Red met Irene, a school teacher at the time, we use to sing "Good Night Irene", when ever he came in the house. We all teased him. He would get red in the face but usually laughed it off.Joan Wheeler LaGrone

What fond memories we have of "Red Cloos" and Harleigh Howerton and their lovely wives. Amazing individuals who could serve as templars for honest, kind folks, able to bring a smile with their wisdom and wit. We and our two young children met Red at Boulder Ridge Estates around 1979. Red walked us over several lots to help us choose one. I remember thinking that I worried that Red might have a heart attack doing all that walking. He seemed rather huge. After all, he looked really old to me, me being a rather young whipper snapper at 37. He was, however, very athletic. My arithmetic tells me Red was only 57 at that time. After walking up and down over several 10 acre lots, my wife reminded me that Red had to carry our youngest child as we gave out. So much for who would have the heart attack. Red and Harleigh sold us our lot that now is on Cloos Road in Boulder Ridge Estates. Many, many happy memories with our Children and many happy memories continuing with our grandchildren. Thank you Red Cloos. A true gentleman.

I met Red in the early '70's as a First National Bank customer. I needed $$ and he was there to make me a loan so I could buy a 4wd for business use. His office was right along the big hallway, so I'd either wave or stop in when passing by. Red and Harley Howerton asked me to sell their Boulder Ridge Estates lots, and it was the 1st mountain subdivision I listed i@ my fledging company. Red was great to work with., Funny ? Thoughtful, with a great mind. You could talk to him about just about everything. He had ideas on how the Broncos could play better, and he'd tell you about the fishing, just not the exact location!! Years went by, and Red contacted me, wanted me to sell his personal lot in Boulder Ridge. We had great fun, sometimes over lunch getting caught up. He'll be sorely missed by friends, and especially family. Wit and Wisdom, if I were to describe Red in 2 words. Living in the mtns my newspaper delivery is 2nd hand, days from being current. I regret missing the Memorial Service on Jan 6.

I was saddened to read about your Dad's passing, Jeanne. I know how much you loved him and treasured the time you got to spend with him. You were such a devoted daughter, and he was so lucky to have your care and time. What an amazing man, father, husband. Now he will get to reunite with your Mom. What a blessing! Love, Mary Lacock
