Obituary of Gilbert C. Sanchez

Gilbert C. Sanchez (Rock, Gil, Gilly, Nino) 49 of Fort Collins passed away at his home on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

Gilbert entered this world on Sunday, March 12, 1972 in Fort Collins, Colorado to Gilbert J. and Cynthia Sanchez.

Gil had many loves. Music, Rockies, eagles, Golf, Poker, Pool, Darts, and playing video games.

He will be remembered most for his big smile, caring heart and his big bear hugs. His laughter would light up the room and his hugs gave you the biggest comfort ever.

When he was younger, he loved playing cat and mouse on the weekends while cruising up and down College Avenue. Many of you will remember him from his singing Karaoke and dancing at the Sundance and Gil taking care of the bob for beers at the Halloween parties. Gil was a season ticket holder of the Colorado Eagles and one of the founding members of Cell Block E. He also loved playing video games online with his nephew and his friends, some whom he has played with for 15 + years. And of course, his big old bear hugs. They were the best.

Gil will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Gil. WE LOVE YOU.

Gil is survived by his parents Gilbert J. and Cynthia, his brother Tim, Nieces Sarah Bragg (Destry), Abbie Sanchez his Nephew Austin Sanchez (Sara). Great Nieces Remington, Maricella, and nephew Colt. Hi is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends. And last but not least his four-legged family, Bandit, Tonks, Blueberry, Snacks, Tinkerbell and Bennie.

He will be welcome on his next journey by his grandparents Rachel and Celestino Sanchez, grandparents BettyAnn Peek and Aime Boucher, Aunt Connie, Henry and Sue Weiss, Uncles Rick Sanchez, Ed Henry, Micky Luckey and Kelly Boucher.

Gil's Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, January 16th at 2 pm. At the American Legion, 2124 County Road 54 G, Fort Collins, Colorado, 80524. Everyone is welcome.
