Obituary of Lyn Ann Veatch

Obituary It is with sadness, but Christian joy that we, the family of Lyn Ann Veatch, 78, announce her passing on January 9,2022 embraced by her family. We are confident that she was met with love and celebration as she entered her Heavenly eternal home. Lyn, was born May 27, 1943, in Springfield, MO to Warren Lyle and Virginia Mae (Wilks) Norton. During her formative years, her father pastored churches in Springfield, MO, Phoenix, AZ, La Junta, CO, and finally in Greeley, CO. She graduated from Greeley High School in 1960 and then attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO for one year. While at BBC, she enjoyed singing in the High Street Baptist Choir. After returning to Greeley, she was employed for a short time as a dental assistant in an Orthodontic practice. She then moved to Denver and worked in the Gates Rubber Company’s Medical Clinic records department and then worked as a legal secretary for a Denver Attorney. Lyn, met the love of her life, Delton Veatch, on a blind date arranged by friend Linda and Delton’s best friend Keith. They were married on June 20, 1964, in Greeley, CO. Her father Warren, performed the wedding ceremony. Delton finished his college education and begun his career which took the couple to Oklahoma City, Houston, Denver, Midland, Denver again, Colorado Springs, Woodland Park, and finally back to Colorado Springs. After retirement they moved to Fort Collins. While living in Woodland Park, Lyn and her friend Mickey started a nonprofit company called the Community Cupboard Food Pantry of Woodland Park. The Pantry provided essential food and other commodities to people who needed short term assistance. Lyn was passionate about helping others. Lyn enjoyed gardening, needle point, watercolor painting, reading, and doting on her grandchildren. She absolutely loved animals, especially German Shepard dogs, squirrels, and hummingbirds. Lyn is proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Delton of Fort Collins, CO, sons Bradley (Judy) of Westminster, CO, Matthew (Danna) of Aurora, CO, grandchildren Andrianna, Vicente, and Ermelinda of Westminster, CO, and Evan of Aurora, CO, her sister Sue Coffey of McMinnville, OR, niece Jennifer (Jeff) Keikkala of McMinnville, OR, and nephew Jeff Coffey of Olympia, WA. A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be planned for a further date.
