Rose Brown

Obituary of Rose Mary Brown

Obituary Rose Mary C. Brown, 96, of Warren, OH and Ft. Collins, CO, passed peacefully 10/10/21 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Ft. Collins. She suffered some dementia in her last year’s yet she always knew her loved ones by name. We all picture her “Together Again” with her love of 61 years, William, Bill Brown who passed in 2008 from complications of Parkinsons. They are both whole again. Rose was born in PA 4/6/25, the daughter of Mary and Jonas Coons. Rose excelled in her favorite role of mother, grand-mother, great grand-mother and aunt. Children gave her life meaning and purpose. Many were blessed by her love and nurturing. She went by several endearing names such as “Magar” (He couldn’t pronounce grandma), and “Walkie” (She loved to walk with her grandma). Dad lovingly called her “The Boss” and friends in PA referred to her as Raz. When not involved with children her and Bill enjoyed many fun road trips to Southern OH, and bus trips through the church to various locations. Those who knew my dad know that they always traveled the back roads, and enjoyed the countryside. On Mom’s 80th I took her back to PA. We stayed in Pittsburgh adventuring around the city. At 80 she walked the streets, shopped and had a great time. A lunch, at what was to her the train station, was a highlight, as was getting lost and discovering a fun outdoor market. Rose worked as a noon aid and crossing guard (a job she shared with Dad) for two local schools in her later years. On visits with her we would often be approached by “kids” who remembered her fondly. In her early years she worked at Joes Radiator Service where she would end up being introduced to my dad. She also worked at Packard Electric, in between she starred in her favorite role as Mother. She is survived by her daughter Cathy Brown-Berry of Ft. Collins, CO, her son William/Bill Brown of Ft. Collins, and Dave Brown (Lori) of Westminster, CO. Also her grandchildren…from oldest (40’s) to youngest (4), Trisha, Cheryl, Chad and Jeff (Robert/Sandy Brown). Kayla and Brandon, (Dave and Lori Brown). Tyler, Katie, Kurstin and Christopher, (Bill Brown/Yvonne and Ashley). Rose also had 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grand-child. 3 She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Margie and Sonny, her husband Bill and her oldest son Robert Brown of Warren (Dec. 2020). Her ashes will be placed next to her husband in the spring of 2022 at Pineview Memorial Park in Warren, OH. No public service will be held.
