Vicki Krug

Obituary of Vicki Lynn Krug

Obituary Vicki Krug, passed away at home on February 7, 2022, after a short illness. Vicki was the eldest daughter of Dale and Claire Manning. She was born on October 1, 1949, in Pasadena, California. Shortly after her birth, her parents moved back to their home town of Fairmont, Minnesota. Vicki graduated from Sherburn High School in 1967. She also attended Huron College in South Dakota. Vicki began her career by working for a stock brokerage firm in Minneapolis, MN. She was assigned to the firm's Mountain West region. After visiting the local offices in Billings, Casper and Denver,Vicki decided to move to Colorado, eventually moving to Fort Collins. It's there she met her future husband, Bill Krug, a local boy and home builder. They were married August 3, 1979. After their marriage, Vicki wanted something new and tried her hand at retail and opened Vicki's Lingerie. However, after her husband's persuasion, Vicki found her true calling in real estate. Vicki was a Realtor with Caldwell Banker and won many top sales awards over her 30+ years in residential real estate. Vicki & Bill enjoyed travel and they were fortunate to be able to tour Greece & the Greek Isles, Ireland & Scotland, Canada, Australia, Tahiti, much of Europe, especially Italy, and Oktoberfest in Germany. Plus, the Caribbean (including sail boating in the British Virgin Islands and Fiji), and many oceans cruises. Cabo San Lucas, Mexico became a favorite and was Vicki's go-to spot. She loved going whale watching. They hosted many friends & family at their condo in Cabo. Vicki loved a party and there was nothing more relaxing then a boat party up at Horsetooth Reservoir. Vicki enjoyed the people and Bill spent his time cleaning the boat! The boat fun spilled over into Lake Powell houseboat vacations with groups of friend in the early 90's. Each successive year, Vicki added more provisions to the list of “essentials” for the houseboat. Who wouldn't haul a generator from Fort Collins to run a freezer so you don't run out of ice! Besides travel, the Krug home was the site of many birthday celebrations, and Super Bowl and New Year's Eve parties. However, the rule was: everyone had to leave by 10 pm! The Krugs were CSU football fans, never missing a home game. They had season tickets at the new on-campus stadium. But the Hughes tailgate parties were maybe the most fun part! They enjoyed supporting CSU at many bowl games over the years. Vicki is survived by her husband, Bill Krug, and Bill's siblings, Kathy, Mark, Carol and their families. Also surviving, her only sibling, Kay Wood and her partner, Tom Kleckner. Vicki is predeceased by her parents, Bill's parents, Hubert & Elsie Krug, and brother-in-law, Steve Krug.
