Obituary of Haldene "Halli" N. Freddy

Obituary Haldene N. Freddy, "Halli" May 4, 1949 - April 22, 2022 (age 72) (Earth Day 2022) Haldene N. Freed Freddy, ‘Halli’, of Ft. Collins, CO, passed with her personal dignity on April 22, 2022 after a courageous fight during treatment for melanoma cancer. She was a precious person of kindness towards others and always saw the positive in people. The shining lights of her life were grandson Branoch and daughter Alyssa who gave her spirit and purpose. Halli was born in Seattle, WA, May 4, 1949, and lived in nearby Bellevue, WA. She graduated from Newport Senior High School. Halli was an accomplished soprano vocalist having been professionally trained and performed since her early teens and later graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in music education with vocal performance. Her artistic talents also included sewing, quilting, card-making, scrapbooking, reading a wide array of literature along with playing piano, flute, guitar, and ukulele. She enjoyed elementary education by helping students with reading and arts and served for many years as Office Manager at Dunn Elementary IB School in Ft. Collins. Halli had an adventurous spirit always willing to travel or reside in new and sometimes remote areas. Her favorite travels were to special places via ‘blue highways’ often camping to enjoy the beauty and splendor of the outdoors from ocean beaches to mountainous wilderness. Animals always played an important role in her life and she had that ‘training touch’ for 50 years with our family German Shepherd Dogs who were her loyal companions rewarded by her adoring hugs. Halli was a supporting soulmate and companion as a wife, a caring, supporting, and enriching mother, and a proud, protective, and adoring hockey-mom grandmother. We will all dearly miss her smiles, hugs, laughs, humor, sense of adventure, and crystal blue eyes. Halli was preceded in death by her father, Harold Freed of Bellevue, WA, mother Ann Marie Wheaton Freed of Seattle, WA and sister in-law Linda Freed of La Conner, WA. Her surviving family includes Dave Freddy, husband of 51 years from Ft. Collins, daughter Alyssa Freddy-Sweet, husband Colin Sweet, and grandson Branoch Sylvester of Aurora, CO. As well as her loving and adoring stepmother for 65 years, Tina Freed of Issaquah, WA, brother Rod Freed and family of La Conner, WA, brother David Freed of Sequim, WA, and sister and brother in-law Deborah and John Genskow and family of Eau Claire, WI. In lieu of flowers, Halli would appreciate donations to Teaching Tree Early Childhood Learning Center of Ft. Collins who helps children and their families in need, or any Children’s Hospital system, or Pathways Hospice of Ft. Collins. Her family and friends will have private services in the future to celebrate her life at possibly several locations.
