Obituary of Vicky Jean Batty

Obituary Vicky Jean Batty, age 61, a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend went home to be with the lord on Friday 4/22/22 after a courageous, but short battle with ovarian cancer. Vicky was born December 1960 in Ft. Collins, CO to Ed and Lou Batty. Vicky married Leonard Cordova, in 1977. They had 3 boys together. Vicky was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Vicky was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in September 2021; 7 short months ago. 7 months that she filled with a fight for life and a positive attitude that never wavered regardless of each time she was given bad news about her prognosis. Her strength and courage were incredible and is definitely something we all can learn from when facing life trials. She was diagnosed with a very rare form of ovarian cancer and was so proud that she could donate to science in order to help diagnose and possibly find a cure in the future for this very rare cancer. Guess you could say she is a pioneer of sorts. Vicky was one of a kind. When God created her, he created a uniqueness that couldn't be matched by anyone. She was humble, honest, giving, caring, and outspoken (some would just say loud). She said what was on her mind and didn’t sensor herself for her audience; all the way to the end. Even though there were times that that sensor button could have come in handy. She had a spark about her that radiated through her and out her mouth, sometimes with enough force to make a sailor blush. She lived to laugh, joke and love with everything she had in her. Vicky spent a large chunk of her life in the same neighborhood and being known as 'neighborhood watch' to the neighbors. You could hear her yell or her whistles from afar and if it was you she was looking for, you better run to see what she wanted. It was in this neighborhood that Vicky would meet her lifelong friends and her second mom, Francis Tellez. Vicky, her sisters and the Tellez kids ran that little neighborhood in North Ft. Collins, creating a space for what would be a place that her kids, nieces, nephews and grandkids would grow up. Vicky walked to the beat of her own drum and never cared what anyone thought about her. She was the only one that was able to pull off the 1980s feathered hair, blue eyeliner and blue mascara well into the 21st century. You could catch her barefoot and braless the majority of the time, driving around with her big toe on the accelerator and arms straight as arrows steering that wheel. She had a sense of humor about her that allowed her to laugh with us when anyone would tease her. She was literally the crazy cat lady. Vicky loved them all. Later in life, Vicky could be found spending time with her family, babysitting kids, dogs and anyone or thing they needed cared for. She was survived by 3 sons, Dominic (Nikki) Cordova, Christian (Kristina) Cordova and Nathaniel (Sarah) Cordova. 8 grandchildren 1 grand dog. 3 sisters, Barbara (Randy) Sievers, Shelley (Chad) Hanna, Pam Meza (Carlos Ortiz). Numerous nieces and nephews. Her special sister in law Cheryl Cordova and close family friends Feit-Bay family. She proceeded in death by her parents.
