Obituary of Philip Wesley Millard

Obituary Philip Wesley Millard ascended to Our Heavenly Father April 23, 2022 at 76 years. Philip leaves behind his loving wife, Helen, together married for 24 years. Philip was born December 29, 1945, in Harper, Kansas, the son of George and Ada Millard. He graduated from Argonia High School in Kansas in 1963, (excelling each year as the star football player), and went on to graduate from Wichita State University with a Degree in Industrial Arts, while also working at Cessna Air Craft. His first marriage to Shari Berner brought three sons, Kyron, Kory and Shane in Fort Collins, Colorado, where Shari was a nurse and he worked in the plumbing and construction industry for over 40 years. Shari passed in 1992 with cancer and Philip diligently worked his business while also being cook, cleaner and compassionate father to his three sons. All became very successful men. Philip and Helen Johnson then married in 1998 adding her children Greg Johnson and Holli Grabenstein. Together Philip and Helen designed and built two houses, successfully bettered the Plumbing business and Contracting while clientele increased due to his excellence and generosity. With no advertising ever, word of his talent and kindness easily got around making the business grow; he would say “Oh, I love helping others and see the smile on their faces when the job is done.” Always one to assist to “share the load” he participated in a short-term missions trip to Haiti (heat, humidity and lizards in his sleeping quarters not hindering his diligence nor ability to rise and shine for another day ! He and his team successfully renewed the plumbing facilities in the community. The family then grew eventually to 13 grandchildren...bringing the joy of a full house in Colorado at many holidays when they could all come to visit. As loving grandparents, Philip & Helen traveled to them also...Oklahoma, Minnesota, California and Hawaii. Holli/David and family lived in Colorado also where no matter the weather, all their sports and events were gladly attended and cheered mightily ! A unique and kindly man, Philip was a helper and friend to many--while also declaring his love of God. Kind, generous, gentle, creative, diligent...sometimes a tease, sometimes ornery... the list goes on to this day and beyond as we celebrate his 'Promotion of Glory'. Surviving Philip is his loving wife, Helen; his sons Kory (Beth); Shane (Christina); his daughter-in-law, Tami (Kyron ascended February 2, 2020); Helen's children, Greg (Kim) and Holli (David), all whom he loved deeply and they loved him; and 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ada, his first wife, Shari, his sisters, Marilyn, Barbara; his first born, Kyron (Tami); and twin sister, Phylis (who passed 2 days before Philip). Services to be held at Timberline Church, Windsor, CO; 360 Crossroads Blvd, at 10 a.m.; Saturday, April 30th, 2022.
