Obituary Sam Anthony Jatczynski December 31, 1925 to April 30, 2022 (Age 96) ____________________________________________________________________________________ Sam Anthony Jatczynski, a resident of Wellington, Colorado, passed away on April 30, 2022, with family at his side at the age of 96. He was born on December 31, 1925 in Alverda, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Petty Officer Third Class aboard the USS Mona Island which participated in the subjugation and occupation of Okinawa in 1945. After receiving his Honorable Discharge, he attended trade school to hone his skills as an auto mechanic. On August 27, 1949, he married Jeanette (Zelenka), his lifelong sweetheart who remained by his side until his death. He worked many years as an automobile mechanic and later as an automotive safety technician before retiring. Sam and Jeanette moved from Southern California to Colorado in 2006. Sam loved his family, the mountains and countryside, camping, driving, singing, playing the harmonica, and sharing these loves with his extended family. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette, his sons Jim (Pat) and Mike, brother Joe, sisters Yvonne and Susan, his Uncle Rudy, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
