Obituary of Lois D. Schilling

Obituary Lois (Deines) Schilling, 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on June 29th, 2022. She was born at home on Easter Sunday April 21st, 1935 in a major blizzard in Fort Collins, Colorado to Adam and Bertha Deines. She graduated a proud Fort Collins High School Lambkin in 1952, and went on to start her very successful career. Before graduating high school, she met and eventually married her greatest love, Vern Schilling, on July 15th, 1955. They welcomed their first daughter Denise in 1958 and their second daughter Debbie in 1961. Lois started her very successful career in the brokerage industry in 1952 with Don Chapin and Company. In 1969, she obtained her brokerage license with the New York Stock Exchange, and became one of the first female stock brokers in the state of Colorado. She was also heavily involved in the Soroptimist Club, but her involvement with Trinity Lutheran Church was her most treasured endeavor. She continued building her successful career, and in 2010 she teamed up with her daughter Debbie. They worked as a team until she retired in 2017. She is survived by her daughters Denise Faulkner (Kurt), Debbie Schilling, and five granddaughters, Caley Faulkner (Cam Swedberg), Lissa Faulkner, Jordan Schwindt (Josiah), Amanda Edwards (Richard), and Sammie Riedel, and great grandson Koe Swedberg. In addition, her sister Judy Titus (Keith), and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Vern Schilling, her parents, and her sisters Lorraine Anderson and Barbara Witman. Services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, July 15th, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 E Stuart St, Fort Collins, Colorado. A reception will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or Pathways Hospice.
