Obituary of Barbara A. Wilson

Obituary Barbara Ann Wilson of Wellington, Colorado passed away on July 9, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 67 years old. Barbara was born March 6, 1955, on Long Island to Michael and Rose Mary (Gartland) Stankiewicz. Starting out in Valley Stream, she moved to Lindenhurst as a child and would later choose that as her home where she lived with her husband and daughter. Barbara married her husband Barry in 1976 and they have rarely been apart since. In 2017, she moved to Colorado with her husband to be close to her daughter and son-in-law and enjoy the retired life near what she called the most beautiful place in the world, Rocky Mountain National Park. She was a 1973 graduate of Lindenhurst Senior High School and would later obtain her bachelor’s from NYIT. She worked as a contracts manager for Northrup Grumman and BAE Systems. She lived her life to the fullest by enjoying time spent with family, travelling, cooking and being in nature. Since moving to Colorado, she particularly enjoyed going to the park to see the elk rut. Barbara reveled in making events memorable. She always made a house a home whether in New York or Colorado. She made every occasion spectacular and her love for her family shined through in the effort she always put in. Desperately missing her are her beloved daughter Rachel and her adoring husband of 46 years, Barry. They both feel the weight of her absence immensely. Also mourning Barbara is her son-in-law Josh, cousins Dan and Carol (Stankiewicz) Simas, niece Olivia Simas, and several friends.
