Obituary of Joe Tafoya

Obituary Amando “Joe” Tafoya passed away peacefully on July 10th, 2022 with his son at his side. Joe was born March 22nd, 1939 in Taos New Mexico. He graduated from Pueblo County high School, and made his living selling cars, had a car dealership, and up till his death, was involved with international monetary exchange. Joe is survived by his son Troy Tafoya (Carrie) of Fort Collins, Daughters Laurie Wirichs of Florida, and Carrie Bannai (Vinay) of California. Two sisters, Lorraine Algien (Art) and Bea DeMarco (Phil) both of Pueblo Colorado, and a brother, Lee Tafoya (Lezlie) of Vancouver Washington. Joe was very involved with the Knights of Columbus for decades and was a Master Knight, but Joe’s true passion was his love of the outdoors. He was an avid fly fisherman, traditional bowhunter, and was chasing Pheasants in Nebraska and South Dakota whenever he could. He and his son, with friends, had many trips and memories they shared in Joe’s life Joe was always reaching for the stars, and had the glass is always half full mentality in everything he did. His sense of humor and zest for life was infectious to all who knew him. He will be missed.
