Obituary of DeeAnn Schmidt

Obituary Dee Ann Schmidt with her family by her side passed away late October 4, 2022. Dee Ann Elaine Burns was born April 19, 1948, in Laramie, Wyoming to Charles “King” Burns and Gladys “Bradley” Burns and grew up in Bellvue, Colorado while spending a considerable time in Walden, Colorado. All her life Dee Ann always enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood. She attended school in LaPorte and graduated from Poudre in 1966. Dee Ann married Christian Schmidt of Fort Collins, Sept 8, 1968, and were married for 54 years. She believed in God, Family, Friends, and hard work. To further her spiritual growth, she attended weekly bible study sessions. She believed in the value of family and was always there for husband and children, their well-being was her top priority. She made many friends during her lifetime. Her closest friends were the “La-La’s” because they were from “La”Porte, some of whom she had known since grade school. Dee Ann always helped in any way she could doing a job or cleaning up after it was finished. Her hobbies included playing volleyball, working outside, sewing, spending time with friends, laughing, and telling stories. Dee Ann’s true passion was making handmade quilts, with her biggest achievement finishing a quilt started by her grandmother in 1935. Dee Ann was preceded in death by her Dad, Mom, and infant sister. She is survived by her husband Chris of Fort Collins, her son Brad K. (Sonya) Schmidt of Milliken Colorado, her daughter Brooke Schmidt of Fort Collins and her sister Lynn Jay of Show Low, Arizona. She will be missed by all that knew her. A celebration of life will be held November 5th, 2022, at noon at the Cache La Poudre Grange 2929 N. County Rd 23 Bellvue, Colorado.
