This is a lovely tribute to your Dad - although, as a neighbor, you forgot to mention his artistic side and gardening skills that made his home lovely to walk past. He was kind of a Renaissance Man with his many talents and interests and all his knowledge. Don was a doctor for my 3 children, and I valued this care and support through their childhood years. I am so sorry for your loss, and hope you find healing in celebrating his memory. It sounds like you have great stories to tell!

Dr. Donald Beard was an amazing man. I enjoyed getting to know him as a neighbor in University Acres and at Westmoor Beach and Blade Club. Y'all are in my thoughts and prayers. Remembering the good times keeps our loved ones with us forever. Cherish these memories each day. Take care of yourselves..

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Beards passing. He was my pediatrician for most of my childhood at the Youth Family Clinic. He was the kindest, generalist, and most loved and respected medical provider my parents choose to care for all my medical needs. I was born at Poudre Valley Hospital in February 1982. I remember somethings but I was super young, but I recall sitting in the office and in a doctors room with him and hed listen to my chest or give me a shot or look at my skin and always make me feel well cared for and respected and he was so great ensuring I left the office with a sucker or a sticker or small toy item which at that time was very important to me. My mother has always spoke so highly and so proudly of your care and work with her children and in the medical community here in Fort Collins, CO. I still have my childhood medical records in hard copy and his signature on most if not all several hundreds of pages and I truly am so grateful for him, his family, and his medical team, knowledge, and his deep desire to help others especially children as he made a huge impact on me and my family and we will eternally be grateful. Rest in Peace Dr. Beard. God gain a great angel in you and yesterday my mother joined you in heaven as God called her home and we know you are all looking on us loving your families, your communities, and your gift you shared so dearly with all those you crossed paths with while here in body and this time. My deepest condolences to your family and all those that you loved and loved you.

I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Beards passing. I was a patient of his many years ago. He was always kind and understanding throughout my youth. It is rare to have a physician who can maintain this special relationship from infancy to adulthood. He was a very special light and will be sorely missed. My condolences to you and your family.

I am a good friend of Dianes going back to jr high and high school. I have many fond memories of Dr Beard during this time. One of these memories is of Dr Beard alongside my dad John Yule and other dads as well. They were good sports about participating in a skit at a pep assembly at Fort Collins High. I think it might have been during homecoming week. They were asked to bare their bellies where faces were drawn on their bellies, and then their heads were covered so it looked like their real head was at their belly. They all did a dance that got the bleachers full of students all pumped up for the football game and festivities. So devoted to being a wonderful dad and having a fun time participating in activities and events to support his kids. Such a wonderful man. He will be fondly remembered. My deepest sympathies to the Beard family for this great loss. Marci Sheesley

I am heartbroken. Between him and McGinnis I think I oddly was pushed out of the youth clinic since I was clearly no longer a youth but I never wanted to leave them. Beard was one of the reasons I fell in love with medicine. Ill never forget the charismatic eyebrows and his obvious passion for his patients. This brings me to tears. Some major moments in my life and career choice path I owe to him. Prayers for the family and may you rest in peace.

When Bob and I moved to Fort Collins, Don invited Bob to share his office. A Sosa pediatrician and an orthodontist and a fairly small place. Don and Bob became good friends, skiing buddies, and Donna included us in so many of their family and social events. They made coming to a new town easy and exciting. They really have added so much to Fort Collins has had their children they will be Rembered buy so many in the community, and I love goes out to all their children who have all led successful and beautiful lives. Don and Donna were always the parents that everyone wanted.

I am so sorry to learn of Dr. Beard's death. When my kids were little and the Youth Clinic was new, I always felt so secure with Dr. Beard's care of my children. As my kids grew up, I would run into Dr. Beard once in awhile and I always told him how lucky his family was to have such a fine guy. Once, upon attending an estate/garage sale, I looked up and saw a man who looked just like him. Before I could catch myself, I blurted out "You look like Dr. Beard!" He just chuckled and said, "Well, I AM Dr.Beard." Seems his daughter was part of those doing the sale and he was there to lend a hand. What a loss; we will all miss him, but will always remember him with great fondness.
