Obituary of Daaron Rhyse Percell

Obituary Daaron Rhyse Percell, age 57, passed away on December 16th, 2022 at his residence that he shared with his mother, Mary Percell in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Daaron was born on March 4th, 1965 to Daniel E and Mary D Percell in Loveland, Colorado. In Daaron’s younger years he loved skateboarding with his friends from Thompson Valley High School and collected Hot wheels Cars. He was always chasing his sister Daneille from following him & his friends when it was just guy time. He also had a duck named waddles whom he loved very much when he was in 4th grade. Daaron & sister Daneille went to almost every Star Wars movie at the Realto in Loveland CO. Daaron & Daneille also had many fishing adventures with their dad for good grades. After active duty when he in-listed in the Army Reserves he attended Aims Community College which he studied Orthopedics and Psychology. The family of Daaron describes him as a “very generous and caring person. Went above and beyond to show compassion.” He loved Star Trek & received a huge book all about Star Trek. In his later years he collected various Star Wars memorabilia as well, and also collected various Baseball cards. Daaron was enthused by fast cars as well as muscle cars. He owned multiple cars. Daaron loved, owned and cared for at least 12 plus horses. He loved his four cats; Chyna, Maisel Tapow and Eowyn. Daaron was enlisted into the Army July 1984 after being in the Army ROTC in high school. During his active duty he was deployed to the first Iraq conflict during Saddam Hussein’s rule. His soldiers meant so much to him he once told us that even though he had no children that his soldiers were like his children. He always sent his soldiers in his place when his leave came up. He did 3 oversea tours, & received multiple medals for various achievements. His Rank exiting active duty was First Sargent (E8)He then enlisted in the Army Reserve until he retired in 2011. He was dedicated to his Unit of 211 soldiers under him even after he became a civilian. Those left to cherish Daaron’s memory are his mother whom he adored, Mary Percell of Ft. Collins, Colorado , sister, Daneille (Jerry) Caldwell of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Brother, David Percell of Rimrock, Arizona. Daaron is preceded by sister, DaVada Garling & Father who also was an Army veteran in the 82nd Airborne. Daaron had 4 Nephews from Sister Daneille & (Jerry) Caldwell. Nephews are: Levi & Adrienne Caldwell (Jude & Julian) JJ & Cheyenne Caldwell ( Aubrie, Maci, Beau & Kaceton) Cody Caldwell & Mackay Price Tyler Caldwell (Addalynn) & Jennifer Soto Our Sister DaVada also gave Daaron a niece, DaLisha Vervedyne( Melvin) & daughter Kailee. He had several Aunts, Uncles & cousins that cared about him and admired him for his service in the Army. Daaron was so proud that one of his great nephews, Kaceton has his middle name Rhyse. A date for the celebration of his life will be planned in the near future. We will post the details on Facebook.
